Conflicts of Interest

It is our responsibility to be professional and avoid officiating teams where there may be a conflict of interest (real or perceived). Members are required to disclose any real or perceived conflicts of interest upon registering with JAM each year, and as each season progresses, and assignments will be made at the discretion of JAM depending on each individual member’s conflict.

Examples of conflicts of interest could include:

Family members (athlete or coach)
Studio or youth teams
Off-season dance team consultant
School district employee
Other relationships (personal or professional)

Leaves of Absence

A JAM member’s leave of absence may affect his or her MSHSL promotional level which could also impact their returning JAM membership level. If coaching or parenting was involved in the leave of absence, the member would return to Restricted member status and would need to follow JAM membership criteria in order to advance.
