Annual Training

Our training program sets us apart from many other sports programs and prepares our members to officiate to the best of their abilities.  Annual JAM training is mandatory for all members.

Topics covered at training include, but are not limited to:

  • Professionalism & expectations

  • JAM Code of Conduct

  • MSHSL score sheet criteria

  • Categorical analysis of the score sheet

  • Minnesota Average scale

  • Technique demonstration & difficulty

  • Dangerous moves

  • Tabulation procedures

  • Kick counting & timing

  • Trial judging using current Minnesota dance team routines

  • Mentor Program

  • Rules clarifications

  • Enforcing the rules

  • Superior Judge responsibilities

  • Superior Judge shadowing opportunities

  • Problem solving strategies

  • Analyzing final scores

  • Northern Training

    Location: St. Cloud Cathedral High School

    Date: Saturday, October 4

    Time: Check in 8:15-8:45 am; training begins at 8:45 am. Plan for a 6-8 hour day.

  • Metro Training

    Location: Edina Community Center

    Date: Saturday, October 25

    Time: Check in 8:15-8:45 am; training begins at 8:45 am. Plan for a 6-8 hour day.
