Membership Levels
All JAM members must register as an official with the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) annually, and show proof of registration each season in order to register with JAM.

Requirements:
Registered MSHSL dance team official
Must attend JAM KCT/Tab Training
Eligible to:
Kick count/time (KCT) and tabulate regular and post-season meets

Requirements:
Meet MSHSL Regular Season Tier requirements
Must attend JAM Northern or Metro Training
Eligible for:
Regular season assignments (excluding judging Conference Championships)
NOTE: Certain members at this level may be assigned to KCT or tab at Conference Championships or Sections, depending upon their efforts and quality of officiating
Advancement from Level 1 to Level 2:
Completed 3 years of MSHSL Dance Team officiating
AND
Completed 20 varsity judging assignments
Submit a Level Advancement Form to apply for advancement once these requirements are met.

Must attend JAM Northern or Metro Training
Eligible for:
Regular season and Section assignments
Advancement from Level 2 to Level 3:
Completed 4 years of MSHSL Dance Team officiating
AND
Completed 35 varsity judging assignments
Submit a Level Advancement Form to apply for advancement once these requirements are met.

Eligible for:
Regular and post-season assignments, including Sections and State
NOTE: State Tournament assignments are directed by the MSHSL, not JAM
Leaves of Absence
A JAM member’s leave of absence may affect his or her MSHSL promotional level which could also impact their returning JAM membership level. If coaching or parenting was involved in the leave of absence, the member would return to Restricted member status and would need to follow JAM membership criteria in order to advance.
First-year JAM officials who take a leave of absence for their second year and then return would return as Level 1 but would need to complete at least two trial judging experiences prior to being assigned to judge.
First-year officials who take more than one year leave of absence and return would return as a first-year official.
Level 1 officials who take a one year leave of absence and return would return as Level 1 but would need to complete at least one trial judging experience or attend the mentor program prior to being assigned to judge.
Level 1 officials who take more than a one-year leave of absence and return would return as Level 1 but would need to complete at least two trial judging experiences prior to being assigned to judge.
Level 2 and 3 officials who take leaves of absence will return to a membership level with stipulations as determined on a case-by-case basis by the Core Group.
